ERIE COUNTY YOUTH ACTIVITIES SURVEY PROJECT
The Erie County Youth Activities Survey Project is the product of a collaborative effort led by the Healthy Youth Development Advisory Board (a committee of the Erie County Policy and Planning Council for Children and Families). Other partners in the effort include the Nurturing Children and Developing Youth Impact Council of United Way of Erie County, the Safe Places committee of Erie's Promise, the Union City Healthy Youth Development effort, and the Education Committee of Erie's Weed and Seed initiative.
Penn State Erie's Center for Organizational Research & Evaluation (CORE) is leading the effort to conduct a survey of all youth activity providers in Erie County. The information collected will be compiled into an online directory of activities available in Erie County. This directory will be searchable based upon multiple criteria including type of activity, ages served, location, cost, and eligibility requirements.
The Erie County Youth Activities Survey initiative will also include a survey of youth to identify their interests, needs, and how they spend their time. The data gathered from the survey of youth and this online survey of youth activities providers will be used to identify gaps and overlaps in activities available to youth.
