BELIEFS We believe that healthy youth development efforts need to be addressed at all ages , from proper pre-natal care through young adulthood. We believe that the teenage years are a time for growing up and receiving an education, not a time for pregnancy and parenting. One measure of our success will be the reduction of the rate of teen pregnancy in Erie County , as success here will be largely due to overall success in developing healthy youth. We believe that abstinence should be the cornerstone of pregnancy prevention programs and initiatives; however, contraception must be available for teens who choose not to heed the abstinence message. |
